Sun City is a census-designated place
and unincorporated town in Maricopa County, Arizona. The population in
July 2007 was 47,984. Its adjoining sister city is Sun City West both of
which are retirement communities, often for winter residents. The
community has a wide variety of interests and activities, an ideal adult
community where all residents can be as active as they wish. It contains
seven recreation centers, 8 golf courses, 3 country clubs, 2 bowling
centers, Sun Bowl, and Viewpoint Lake, constituting the largest
concentration of year round recreational facilities in the United
States.
